When a heart team alert is called via EMS, the cath lab team is activated. We ask that you transmit your EKG as soon as possible to start the process.
Each site has an emergent cath lab and process when entering.
If directed by ED staff, EMS will go straight to the cath lab and enter through the cath lab door on the northwest corner of the hospital. You will be met by a cath lab staff member or house supervisor.
Once directed by ED staff, EMS will enter through the main ED doors and look for the green light near the elevator indicating the cath lab is ready for the patient. Staff will escort EMS and the patient to the cath lab.
